Obituary of Charles Edward Lee
Charles Edward Lee, Jr., was born on December 30, 1953 to the late Charles Edward Lee, Sr.
and Nancy Hester Walker-Lee in Cincinnati, Ohio.
His family moved to Newark, NJ in 1963.
Mr. Lee attended Warren Street, Robert Treat, Broadway and Woodland Ave Elementary
Schools. He then went onto Central High School where he played the quarterback position on the
football team, while being a youth coordinator at United Community Corp, Youth Center in
Newark, NJ.
At age 19, Charles met and married his first wife, Sheila Mae Jackson, in 1973 - 1990; they bore
two sons, Charles Edward Lee III and Bruce Matthew Lee.
Charles opened a Karate School in Newark, NJ. He taught a system of Kobudo (weaponry), Shiai
– Bamboo Sword, and Bo Staff and Kamas – Sickles, while pursuing a career, in security
bodyguard. His clientele included Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston, Colonel
Abrams, People Court and John Edwards; Crossing Over Television Show, and several others.
Mr. Lee was also an author of many books and publisher: Know thyself start to reclaim your
life, Essence of Truth, Ancient Mysteries & Secret Pamphlet, The Prophesy of Truth, Living in
The Spirit, SKIF/Know Thyself, and many more.
Charles Lee met Carmen Rojas, and they bore a son, Adam Brent Rojas-Lee. Later in the years,
Charles Lee married Jacqueline Laparte, where he added three stepsons to his family; Robert,
Kris and Damon Laparte.
In 2013, Charles E. Lee met the love of his life and asked Gale Goolcharan hand in marriage;
adding two daughters to his family – Chanin and Cherisse Goolcharan.
Charles leaves to mourn a loving wife, Gale Goolcharan-Lee, two step daughters, Chanin and
Cherisse Goolcharan, East Orange, NJ, three sons, Charles Edward (Octavia) Lee III, grandson
Christopher Edward James Lee of Eastampton, NJ, Bruce Matthew Lee, of Newark, NJ, Adam
Brent (Thalia) Rojas-Lee, granddaughter A’liayah M. Rojas-Lee of Passaic, NJ a sister, Barbara
Carol (Robert) Lee-Carson of Newberry, S.C. brothers, Arthur Delray Lee of Charleston, S.C.,
Marc Anthony Lee of Washington, D.C. and Scott Edward (Amina) Lee of Newark, NJ.
Charles leaves four nephews Stephen Lee, Richard Maple, Gregory Carson and Nazeeh Lee,
along with two nieces Nadiyah Lee and Nia Hutchins. .
Charles also leaves a host of family and friends.
