Just the next day after Thanksgiving my husband my 3 kids and my 2 granddaughters went to see our cousins. We hadn't seen them in years. We had such a good time. Sydney gave me some advice to help with my youngest daughter who is grown. I appreciated her help and her encouraging words. She is a wonderful counselor. I will miss knowing that we can not converse more. You will be missed cousin Sydney. But we will see each other again. Raymond, niki, nile and Taylor I promise to see you guys more often. Love your cousin Lisette

Oh Mama Ivey, The Notorious SID...
I write this with tears in my eyes, reading how many people loved you, how many of us you reached.
The first person to ever make me chicken and waffles for breakfast.... new year’s eve parties at the house. Kitchen table talks, sleepovers! The times you were there for me when I wasn’t listening to my parents... always real and to the point... “cut the shit D”
But more recently i will cherish our texts, and you coming to my baby shower, being so proud I finally got it together... May you rest peacefully Mrs. Ivey. Kiss Sam for me. I promise to always be there for Niki and the family...

Ms. Sidney Ivy,
I met her as my son's guidance counsellor. She made a difference in his life and mine. She attended Sid's wedding. We loved her. She had the purest heart. She was deeply caring and loving. I am heart broken at her loss. My son and I will never forget her as long we live. My husband Robert and I send our hearfelt sympathy at her untimely loss. May her family find comfort in prayers and fond memories of her.

My heart is broken. Ms. Ivey, I can remember sitting in your office like it was yesterday. My life at home was in such chaos. All I needed was a listening ear. You helped me through so much. I feel blessed to have had you as my guidance counselor for all four years of HS. Well done Ms. Ivey. I love you.

Jonathan Zissman posted a condolence
Tuesday, December 31, 2019
My name is Jonathan Zissman, I am in the Franklin HS class of 1979. Sidney Ivey is my guidance counselor. I posted the below text on the Facebook announcement of Mrs. Ivey's passing:
This makes me extremely sad. I want to share a story with the entire Franklin Township High School community. During my senior year, I hadn't looked in the colleges at all and she called me into her office about that. My father arranged for the both of us to go to her house on a weekend day to talk and look through schools. She was very pregnant at the time, but she really helped me make a decision. She didn't have to give up that much of a weekend day for me, but she did it and I don't remember her being anything but wonderful to me and my dad. I didn't have the vaguest idea what to do. It was very profound for me, because I didn't realize until probably 25 years later what an incredible sacrifice she made for me. Whenever I see the name Sidney or Ivey, I get a warm feeling for her. I didn't come to her, she came to me. She cared more about me than I did about myself. That, is what a guidance counselor is supposed to be. Rest in peace Mrs. Ivey. And thank you from the depths of my heart.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Ivey. I offer my sincere condolences to all her friends and family. I can’t thank her enough for all she did for me as my Guidance Counselor. She certainly had her hands full with keeping me grounded and on the right path to success. Every time my grades would slip, or I was clowning too much in class, she made sure Mom’s knew about it before I got home. What made her special was she truly cared for us all and our future. Thank you Mrs. Ivey, and may God Bless you. Rest peacefully in Heaven.

Ms. Ivey was my lifesaver when I was in HS and she was my counselor for all 4 years I attended FHS. I was very broken and my HS years started the descent into 30 years of horrible times in my life at the cause of my own hands. I am certain that because of Ms. Ivey I made it thru HS in one piece and she planted the seeds of the plant of health I grasped much later on in my life.
God bless you Ms. Ivey. I am forever grateful. Heaven earned another angel.

My deepest condolences to the family.
Ms. Ivey was my FHS counselor back in 77.
She was so sweet and always kept it Real. She focused on showing me so many options in life, colleges I could persue. She Sincerely wanted me and other students to persue the goals of higher learning. I would run into her from time to time, years later and she'd always remembered my name, and my family.
She will be missed. R.I.H.

One of my many memories of Mrs Ikner then and now Mrs Ivey, is the memories of our High School days, that was her name before she hooked up with Ray . Mrs ivey would see Sheldon and I together all the time and she would say “ you two are together all the time “ My husband and I were high school sweet hearts .When Mrs Ivey got tired of seeing us always together she would then say “ come to my office” so of course we did for a couple of reasons , 1 we got out of class and 2 it was fun talking to Mrs Ivey She kept Sheldon and I in line always having our best interest as the priority. Mrs Ivey had a beautiful smile.and an infectious laugh . Mrs Ivey was a great support to so many students at Franklin High Sidney and Ray are Godparents to our daughter Shayla . Rest Sidney , you will be missed
