Obituary of Cynthia D. Ford
Please share a memory of Cynthia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cynthia (Necie) Ford was born on March 7, 1953 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Doretha and Robert Ford. At an early age, she accepted Christ and united with Metropolitan Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. B. F. Johnson. She became an active member of the Young Adult and Inspirational Choirs.
After graduating from South Side High School, she went to work for The Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) now known as The Division of Child Protection and Permanency. After being employed there for thirty years, she retired. During her time with the agency she made several long lasting friendships. Necie favorite time of the day at work was lunch time. She looked forward to sitting around her lunch buddies enjoying the stories they would tell each other.
Necie’s hobbies were dancing and having parties. She also loved watching her ID channels and Snapped.
After a short illness, Necie entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 13, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents Doretha and Robert L. Ford and her youngest sister Shirley Ford. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter, Doretha Nealy; sister Taryn Winstead; granddaughters Kendra and Kiara Nealy; two beloved aunts Mildred Bell and Edna Moore; god children Isaiah Wilson and YaYa McMillan and many other relatives and friends.
I love you Mommy until we meet again Doretha
