Our condolences go out to the Williams family as they mourn the death of Mrs. Williams. May God bless them with comfort and peace! For anyone blessed to know Mrs. Williams, she was a godly woman who spiritually impacted anyone she came in contact with. She was full of kindness and genuine love! She was like an "aunt" to me as I grew up. I spent a great deal of time in the Williams household growing up. Earl Jr. and I were best friends and I was treated like a member of the family. She and Mr. Willians helped me grow in character and develop as a young man! Mrs. Williams impacted her family, church and community in many ways that positively touched many lives! Great and special memories! She will definitely be missed but now she can rest in peace with Our Father in heaven! Peace, love, and joy!

When I think of Mrs. Williams, I can’t help but also think of Mr. Williams and how their relationship was summed up through my experience with them as a child. As I think back now, I know it was the Lord. It had to be the love of Jesus Christ that made me feel so good after each visit to their home.
As a child, you don’t really know what experiences will impact you in the ways that they do until you find yourself reflecting on them as an adult. I imagine them as the young couple I witnessed in the movie “The Notebook.” Every time I visited their home because of my friendship with Shirley, I felt love and such a warm welcoming spirit from them both. It was a love that not only exuded from them, but also from their three children, Earl, Loretta, and Shirley. It was electrifying.
Mr. Williams may be outside in the driveway looking into the open hood of a car but never too busy to greet me with a smile like I made his day by showing up. Mrs. Williams may have just finished churning her homemade ice cream (soooo good) and always ready to let me have a nice size portion of it. I never knew you could make ice cream and thought it was only store bought. I was blown away that you could make your own ice cream. Shirley told me that it was her Aunt Emma’s recipe, but nevertheless, Mrs. Williams put her foot in it! It was better than any store-bought ice cream I ever had (to this day) and soooo good!
I’m sorry I didn’t get an opportunity to interact more with Mr. and Mrs. Williams as an adult, but so grateful to God that the Williams family was a part of my life. My love, thoughts and prayers will always be with you, Earl, Loretta, and Shirley. May God continue to be with you as you journey on in your own lives. Yetta

My sincerest condolences to the family. Aunt Jackie was my Godmother and Uncle Earl was my Godfather. I loved them dearly. Love and prayers to my family that I’ve shared my last name with for life. Time spent with the Williams family has been a blessing for me throughout my life. The laughter that Ms. Williams and Ms. Butler shared was pure joy. Not related by blood but certainly by our hearts. Shirley, you and your family have been a heart family since our little girl days at Mt. Moriah.
