I was extremely surprised at the lost of a childhood friend from Arundel on the bay. But I was just told. We have known each other from the age of six. You would visit your lovely Aunt Doris in the summers. You know you had many friends from Annapolis and the word is finally getting around. Willie sends your family much love and I don’t know if you knew he and daddy were also your frat brothers. All that was said about you was true I have nothing to add except you were the same as a child. May you Rest In Peace and may God hold your family in his arms so that they will heal.

I will deeply miss my Brother Marshall. But I will always cherish the fond memories we had together serving in The New Brunswick Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc., especially working concessions at the Rutgers football games. His commitment to serving Kappa was an inspiration to all Kappa Men.
Rest in Peace my Brother! Until we meet again on those Golden Shores.
Yours in the Bond,
Walt

To my family
I too are sad to hear this sad news. I felt like Marshall was all of that and some because he was my older cousin and he could do know wrong not that he ever did. He was a gentle kind of a guy with a sweet spirit.
Didn't see him a lot in the later years but when we did it was like yesterday. I will miss him but his job is done on earth and God has chosen a beautiful flower for his garden. Marshall, continue to sleep easy until we meet again on the other side of the river. Love you family. Myra Etheridge Tucker

Mr.Simmons has been my family's neighbor since my brother and I's childhood. I was so sad to learn of his passing. I will remember the many times he used to joke with us. I would like to offer my condolences to his son Marques, Andre, and Toya as well as their extended family. May he rest in heavenly peace.
God Bless.
Sincerely,
Damianty Chivukula

Marshall and I pledged together at Morgan State University. We went over 4/8/71- Spring, The Chosen Few. There were seven of us. He and I had the same class schedule Mon., Wed. and Friday. After his ROTC class he would drive the Firebird over to Holmes Hall and blow the horn. That was my signal to emerge from the woods and ride off with him. I spent many weekends with him and met his family in Pasadena, Md. on the Bay. He was a mentor and a good brother. The last I saw him was in Los Angeles with Cookie. Cookie Ruth and I send our condolences to you and your family. He was a good brother and one who I shared crossing the burning sands.

Big Bro! Man this hurts so much. So sudden, so unexpected. At the last virtual chapter meeting, Marshall was holding court because we hadn't seen given everything with COVID. We were all laughing and reminded immediately of what we love about the bond and what we miss with being virtual.
As much as Marshall was a good Nupe and Frat Brother, he was a good man. As a young husband and father when we met, I leaned on him for advice on all kinds of things. I learned by watching and he provided a great example. He was always level headed and easy to talk to. He along with his family have supported me and my family. I have laughed too many time to count and I have cried with this Brother.
He is synonymous with New Brunswick Alumni. We won't be the same without him. We know the pain we feel doesn't compare to that of his wonderful wife, children and grandchildren. I know our chapter will perform our duties in a fashion that he would be proud of. I am happiest to know that we honored his contributions to the Fraternity and our bond through a scholarship in his name. We were able to give him his flowers while he was alive and could enjoy it.
My wife, Nadette, and I along with our family offer our sincere condolences and prayers.
