Sadly, today I learned of Renee’s passing. The last time I saw her was just before Christmas. She called out my name and I walked over to her and without thinking I gave her a hug, because that’s what you did when you saw Renee. She hugged back then I remembered we are in the midst of a pandemic. I back up and said, “I’m sorry I forgot about the Covid-19 thing.” She let out her laugh, a laugh that would rival Santa Claus’s laugh, a laugh that would bring a smile to anyone’s face no matter how you were feeling. She said to me “oh that’s OK, you can hug me.” Renee was light and fun and kindness and faith. When Abraham Lincoln spoke of “The better angels of our nature” he was referring to people like Renee. I will miss her. Walter

My sincere condolences to her parents, sisters, and brothers. I meet Renee in 1979 at a family cookout given by her Godmother. We clicked and friendship began. We laughed we had dinners together we had sleepovers. Renee made me several outfits for my cruise trip. To know her was to love ❤️ her. Always had such a beautiful smile. She will be truly missed by me and all that knew here. RIP Renee until we meet again.

My colleague, Renee Milton, had an incredible eye and knack for making a fashion statement. Dressed for success, she could instinctively root out the truth of any office situation at UMDNJ, adding the perfect words of the wise woman she was. What I also loved dearly about her is the inner party girl, always ready to go out to lunch and, on special occasions, to raise a glass in toast to a success or our respect and love for one another.
