Obituary of Jonathan Do-Doo

Jonathan DoDoo (pronounced doe-DOO), 73, of North Plainfield, NJ, passed away on March 14th, 2021. He was born to parents Michael Darku DoDoo and Mildred Odoi DoDoo on February 10th, 1948 in Accra, Ghana.

In 1969, Jonathan moved to The Bronx, NY and went on to pursue higher education at CUNY (the City University of New York). He graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Electro-mechanical Engineering.

Upon graduation, Jonathan was hired by his lifelong employer, the New York Clearing House, on Wall Street in lower Manhattan. He would work there for over 35 years and retire as Vice President in 2001. Jonathan was also an electronics and technology hobbyist, and worked part-time at Radio Shack in Watchung, NJ for nearly twenty years until its closure.

In 1975, Jonathan met his wife Sondra L. James. They were married on March 4th, 2002 in Scotch Plains, NJ. Together they raised 1 child, Michael Allen James.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, and mother, Michael and Mildred DoDoo, his uncle Benjamin DoDoo, PhD, and his nephew Geoffrey Lamptey.

Jonathan is survived by his wife, Sondra James-DoDoo of North Brunswick, NJ, his son, Michael James (and his wife, Margaret Amy) of Fords, NJ, and his four grandchildren, Aziel, Jocelyn, Evan, and Malcolm, also of Fords, NJ. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane DoDoo, Jack DoDoo, Geoffrey William DoDoo, Rosemary Adjaotor, and Helenmary Bayor, his nephew, Jude Adjaottor, his niece Jane Adjaottor, and many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles.
