Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Sheila?
A: Ms. Benjamin was one of
my mother’s best friends. I believe my mom, Irma Thompson met her at the Daycare center. I believe my older sisters baby sat for her. I remember that she had a gentle quiet spirit. She always sent my mom birthday cards.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends. We will miss her.

This is my daughter tawana when she's an adult and when she's a little girl she is Sheila's goddaughter, and that's me Beverly Sheila's friend since we were 14 years old in the black and white, and that's a picture of Malcolm James and Sheila that was taken at my house years ago me and my sister sleep in peace, I really don't know how I'm going to go on without her, just these few days knowing that she has been called home has really been devastating for me I can imagine with her family is going through sleeping peace my sister for I will love you always your sister Beverly

Words cannot express my deepest condolences to you family! I was never treated like a stranger in her house. When I first met her over 30 years ago, I remember her beautiful bold eyes and such a strong and loving personality. I remember hearing her and my mom talk and laugh and it was so nice that our families shared a special bond of love and respect for each other. I revered her like I revered my own mother, but not just because she was the mother of my husband and grandmother of my sons, but because I loved her and she loved me; this I know because we always told each other and treated each other as such! I am blessed to have known and loved such a beautiful woman with such a tough disposition and a truly kind heart that prayed for her family! We gave each other flowers while we could smell them and I’m forever grateful and grateful for her love for me and my boys and my family. We will all miss you and will see you again! I know your grandsons will miss you and your mac n’ cheese and Malcolm’s personal and special baked apple pie and peach upside down cake. I find comfort in knowing how the bible talks about life going on into eternity. Jesus didn’t just mean that our loved ones who have died would live on in our memories. He literally meant they would live on forever. You were the best mother-in-law a woman could ever have! Thank you! Love you! Be blessed family and lean not into your own understanding!
