Elsie will always be remembered for her forthrightness and independence of thinking. She was in many ways an early advocate for gender equality.
Elsie was passionate in anything she got involved. I remember after some initial hesitation she ventured into the journey of self empowerment through her pursuit of her degree. Her success in a hitherto predominately male arena was fuelled by her new found passion for success.
Elsie was equally passionate about her family and provided advice in the way only she could do, direct and with love.
I remember the many all day shopping expeditions with Elsie and Mayleen at the malls. I soon realised that it required a stamina I didn't have.
Elsie loved life and made the best of her time with us. I remember the late night drives to parties in New York and later at the Black clubs in New Jersey.
Then came the travelling episode. This was her deliberate way of embracing the idea of enjoying what you have when you can.
Elsie was a family person with a passion for good food, having a great time and enjoying the friendships she treasured.
Elsie is physically gone but will be very present amongst those she loved and touched.
Rest in peace cousin.

Q: Describe where Elizabeth worked and what they did
A: Liz and I met at Hewlett-Packard. I was a Field Engineer, and I remember when she joined the team. We immediately bonded. We talked a lot about our culture. Liz made it known she is from Barbados, and I made it known I am from Guyana.
Throughout my career, she encouraged me. I moved on and took another job with Disney, and we stayed in touch. Throughout my divorce, she gave me good advice about life. After my divorce, she would always joke about me getting married again. Liz is a true friend, and I will miss her dearly.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. I will never forget you.

Q: How would you describe Elizabeth to someone who had never met them?
A: My dear friend, how you have left me with wonderful memories and the greatest conversations. You were and have always been a loving, caring and honest person. I miss our times working together. You left a lasting impression to my boys and taught me how to love life and never let anything get in your way. May you rest in peace my beautiful friend until we meet again.
