Obituary of Richard Sanders

Richard Sanders, affectionately known as “Richie” & “Rich” was born on March 12, 1961 to Richard and Margaret Carroll. He was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ. 

Growing up, he enjoyed singing & was well known for his skills on skates. He attended Elizabeth High School and graduated in 1979. As he got older, he grew to love cooking and attended Culinary Arts School which he graduated from and received his Culinary Certificate. 

Richie was known for his sense of humor and when he entered a room, you knew he was there. Whether if he was cracking jokes, or singing a Blu Magic song, his intentions was to make everyone he came in contact with smile. 

 He loved his family, & friends, but most of all God. He longed for the day to be free, and transitioned on April 27, 2023. 

Richie was preceded in death by his (Father) Richard Carroll, (Son) Javon Hart, & (Sisters) Sherry & Carolyn Rivers. 

Richie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his Mother Margaret Carroll, his children Alliah Smith and Richard Sanders, his Sisters Josephine and Patricia Sanders, Roslyn Knight, Dionne Long, & LaRhonda Rivers, his Brothers Richard & Warren Rivers, Best Friends George & James, his Nieces Lateefah, Lisa, Dominique & Melissa Sanders, His Nephews Hassan, Danny, Cory, Wesley & Sabir Sanders along with a host of other nieces & nephews, family and friends.
