Dear Dawn, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your wonderful daughter Mealah Kameele Haughton. May you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her. Her spirit lives on in the lives she touched. I listened to two tributes made today in the service that resonates with me, her brother charged the congregation that when they leave toady, live in unity, no division within family and appreciate and love every one. It's uncanny to talk about Mille in the past tense because losing her presence is a shattering blow to humanity (her family, friends, and community). Millie was the type of person you could depend on to get you out of a jam, lift your spirit, and bring a fresh and optimistic perspective on a problem. Her "easygoing" approach to life's complex issues was her signature trait that reassured you that "everything is gonna be alright." (Well, everyt'ing is not suh alright right now). May her legacy of love, altruism, and can-do spirit live on in the minds and hearts of her children. To the Haughton Family - losing a daughter, sister, and Mother like Millie must be devastating. My condolences to the entire family. Mealah was my friend who became my sista. We met through our then partners and developed our own friendship outside of them. There were so many similarities between us. We ended up pregnant at the same time and were godmothers to our children. You will be missed and I will always be here for your boys! Love you girl!
