Obituary of Brenda M Lawrence

Brenda Lawrence 73, of East Orange New Jersey passed away on September 25, 2024 at Clara Maas Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey.

Brenda, affectionately known as “Peaches” was born on September 28, 1951, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late John E. Bailey Sr. and Geneva K. Bailey.  She spent her informative years in Newark New Jersey attending Newark Public Schools.

Brenda was a bus aid for the East Orange school system for many years and loved babysitting neighborhood kids before she retired. 

In 1974, Peaches married the love of her life Rickey Lawrence and was later blessed with two sons, Alphquan and Ramone.

Brenda enjoyed spending time talking on the phone with her daughter-in-law Tonya from sun up to sun down, her long-time friends Beverly and Pat Jackson.  Peaches also enjoyed going on outings with Ms. Lynn and Ms. Carter.

To know “Peaches” was to know that she loved her family and close friends.  She enjoyed spending time listening to good music and watching her favorite shows (Law and Order and Sisters).  Peaches enjoyed a good day trip to Atlantic City or anywhere else where she could be with those that she loved. 

Peaches was predeceased by her parents John and Geneva Bailey, her husband Ricky, and sister Phyllis Farrar.  She is survived by her two brothers John Jr. (Lei) and Anthony Sr., two sons, Alphquan and Ramone (Tonya), 8 grandchildren, Simone, Alexis, Tazjan, Taphquan, Atiyah, Amir, Sa’Rayah, and Ramone Jr, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her love of orange slices, Mike and Ike’s except the green and yellow, and walking from one end of town to the other.
