I was very shocked to hear about Evan's passing. I am a member of the CBP family and he was a part of that.
I worked for Evan while he was assigned to the ACE Cargo Release Program and was impressed with his knowledge and his professional attitude. But more than that I was honored to call him friend. Until we meet again Evan.

I continue to struggle and accept that he's no longer on this earth. Evan was the first SME (subject matter expert) that I met TDY in Virginia at ACE Business Office. I can still picture him coming to my cubicle with a bowl of oatmeal with that smile asking me how's it going. I always would say LG (Life's Good) and he would reply "indeed it is". EJ was there any time I needed him especially with my travel. As with all the ACE and ABO family, he will truly be missed. But it was an honor to have met such a wonderful human being.

Evan was an amazing member of our family in Alexandria, VA for two years while he lived and worked with us at CBP. He kept in contact with many of us even when he returned to his port. I, like so many others, will miss his warm smile and always upbeat personality, especially when we were both still in the office resolving problems at 7pm night after night. Evan exemplifies the reason we hear the phrase 'only the good die young!' I will miss Evan very much. My condolences to Evan's family and many friends.
